1. [WIP] Everything about the FOLLE

Welcome Home! Welcome to the FOLLE!!

House

Hey fae :) This home page is a work in progress but here are the most important things to know:
-There is a loomio post for announcing global projects (new book / pages, art project for illustrating the FOLLE...) and getting helpers which you can find here: https://www.loomio.com/d/ABZS4odc/folleterre-online-library-of-love-and-education-masterpost-2026
-There is a signal group for every day discussion and motivation which you can access here: https://signal.group/#CjQKICOjvN_zzASF3iehfEUptr5BcPW9lyddIIPCUBbo0qPFEhCn6xWGnbNAY2XIcugpFRIi
- if you already want to start writing, and don't mind the current chaos, you'll find everything you need to know on this page: https://folle.folleterre.org/books/everything-about-the-folle/page/how-to-contribute-to-the-folle

More details about the FOLLE:

First off, if you're just learning about the FOLLE, here is the written proposal that was submitted to the Great Circle:

1 - Introduction

Hellooo peeps this is Pingouin / Robin.

One of the things I’ve been thinking a lot over my first year as a Steward is knowledge retention. I see faeries wanting to get involved in projects but as soon as they are not on the sanctuary it’s not clear for them what to do or who to talk to. Some organizers sometime lack critical knowledge about the land which can lead to difficult situations (plumbing and electricity especially). It’s not clear for all the Stewards which document is stored where, or what is the password or linked email address for this one specific tool. We also have a lot of lovely booklets and zines and ideas and workshops thrown around all the time.

As our community grows and shifts, the need for a shared memory becomes more vital. I would really like to have one place that, any time there’s any question about Folleterre, could make getting involved, getting in touch, just a little smoother and easier...

2 – Proposal

So I propose the creation of the FOLLE: a communal library and digital sanctuary where faeries, new and seasoned, can access and contribute practical wisdom, community lore, and land-based know-how. This library will serve as a central, searchable archive covering some topics such as:

Once there is enough content in the library there is a strong desire to print some zines and have them in little booklets all over the sanctuary.

See you bye bisous bisous

How to contribute to the FOLLE

[WIP]

Hello hello helloooo! This is Pingouin. The FOLLE is online and accessible to every faerie aware of its URL. How exciting!! But there's barely any content. It's like a little butt-naked baby. Like my own little newborn that I gave birth to and now I'm like WHO GOT ME PREGNANT??
It's you.
Yes, you, dear faerie.
You got me pregnant with your LOVE and THIRST for KNOWLEDGE.

What I'm getting at is
I had a call with the French Government
You have some catching up to do regarding child support
and i only accept writing contributions

🤍🐧🖤 SO LET'S DUMP LOADS AND LOADS OF KNOWLEDGE UP IN THIS FOLLE 🖤🐧🤍

FOLLE writing guidelines :

1. Short top, big bottom (just how it is meant to be)

Anytime you are writing about a topic, make sure to put a summary at the top of the page, and ONLY THEN start getting into more details. Think of whoever is going to be looking through the book. If I'm looking for a way to fix the fridge and the page  [TODO: write examples about why it's important to have summaries]

2. Tags tags tags

Every page has a set of tags at the beginning to give you an idea of its current state. Please use them any time you create a new page. Here is a list of the tags:

[WIP]  This page is a work in progress and still lacking major contributions before being considered achieved. Its content is subject to change.

[HELP: robin on the folle signal group] The person currently working on the book / page needs help with it. The tag includes a way to contact the person asking to offer them help. It can be something like an email address, a phone number, or their name in the FOLLE Signal group chat.

[TODO: action] Writing is hard. Anytime there's stuff you want to complete but you're out of juice and can't think of anything you can use [TODO] to tell others what you want to do. (ex: Heart circles are terrible because [TODO: write a very compelling argument explaining why heart circles are bad I just can't find any right now])

[SCC] See next point.

3. Sensitive community content

See the dedicated chapter on SCC (Sensitive Community Content)

4. Always do a search before writing something

It's easy to get very passionate about something and start writing a new page right away. Maybe some people went though the exact same thing but days / months / years earlier. There is a search tool, please use it and see if your visions converge! Having the same information 8 times in 4 different books might make things a pain to navigate.

5. English is the main language for the content

For several practical reasons as of right now English is the main language. Faeries are encouraged to use their browser's built in translator to translate to their main language. Once there is a bigger, stabler body of content translations might be considered.

6. No generative AI

Artificial intelligence is  a complex and rapidly evolving topic. The consensus at the first setup meeting was that for now we don't want content created by generative AI. That includes text and images. It is not a rule set in stone, and if the topic is important to you, you can bring it up on the loomio masterpost (https://www.loomio.com/d/ABZS4odc/folleterre-online-library-of-love-and-education-masterpost-2026) or in the signal group chat (https://signal.group/#CjQKICOjvN_zzASF3iehfEUptr5BcPW9lyddIIPCUBbo0qPFEhCn6xWGnbNAY2XIcugpFRIi)

okay enough about theory let's get practical

You need to login to create/edit content. Right now there is one default account for everyone. The credentials are
Login: default
Password: rj6Q1?V9-b$2r4D;4'y

There is limited space on the server for now, pictures should be okay but any video should be uploaded on a separate drive/website!!

If you are on a computer the options to edit things are on the right under the action dropdown. If you are on your phone they are in the Informations tab at the top.

what should I write about??

Great question! Anything you feel very passionately about and think is hard to carry on from gathering to gathering, hard to remember as a community is a good place to start.

Here is a recipe for a successful and loved FOLLE book:

Of course, this is a suggestion, all of the structural stuff can be addressed later, don't feel forced to fit into this specific thing.

And here are some topics that have been brought up by the community:

The FOLLE is a high-maintenance bitch and here is how to deal with her

i will write a bunch of stuff about how to backup everything and set up the server again in a while i swear!!

Welcome to the Folle! Here is a map

Current FOLLE Backlog

Here you will find a list of the books currently being worked on and the faerie currently in charge of them. If you want to contribute to the book, please get in touch with the related faeries first.

Sensitive Community Content

Intro

We're faeries! We talk about stuff! Sometimes talking about stuff means expressing an opinion about racism, sexual abuse, lots of complicated topics which everyone has an opinion on. Those opinions can be very different and it's beautiful except when those opinions are the opposite of mine and objectively wrong and should be burned to the ground. How can we have this online space where every story can be heard respectfully?

When discussing this over the initial FOLLE setup call, we came up with guidelines which can be seen below. It is good enough for now, safe enough to try, and open to changes if you think it can be improved!

Guidelines

0. First and foremost, speak for yourself, and from the heart, as you would in a Heart Circle. The FOLLE is not a space for endless debate, but it is eager to receive your contribution and heartfelt experiences.

1. Some pages will be marked with a [Sensitive Community Content] at the beginning.

2. When contributing in a SCC page, please pick a color (ugly pretty i dont care pick one!). Sign your name at the top of the page. Then wherever you want you can add your contribution in the color you picked.

3. If you see something that you want to react to, do [TODO: write mindful and positive way to react without breeding conflict]

Here is an example of a SCC page:

Pimprenelle

Bookworm

I feel something and when I see people telling me that I shouldn't be feeling something it makes me upset. I wish for everyone to know what I feel like but I don't know how to do it. I had people who don't feel anything ask me to help them feel something.  It's nice they want to work on that but it's unfair to expect me to help just because I feel a lot of things.

I don't feel anything and for me it is inconceivable that people can feel too much. When people say they feel too much and I upset them and I should be nicer to them I think they're trying to manipulate me and I ignore them. It's making me want to make sure in gatherings we have guidelines to avoid listening to people who feel too much because then all we do is talk about our feelings and no progress is made. I think the people who are feeling sad will feel sadder if the sanctuary burns down because we spent an entire gathering talking about our feelings instead of making the house fireproof.
